SB 1.9 - Passing Away of Bhismadeva (With Purports)

At the conclusion of the Battle of Kuruksetra, the great mahajana General Bhismadeva was lying on a bed of arrows when all important personalities in the universe, including Lord Krsna Himself, assembled to pay their respects to this great sadhu.

In this chapter Grandfather Bhisma instructs the new emperor Maharaja Yudhisthira on social duties, but more importantly he offers his final prayers to the Supreme Lord who was standing next to him awaiting his departure. There are no descriptions in any other sastra with such sweet explanations of the chivalrous rasa.
